Construction Calculators
Material estimators for concrete, paint, tile, roofing, drywall, and wallpaper. Built for DIY homeowners, contractors, and trade pros — with imperial and metric units throughout.
On the roadmap
Cubic yards or cubic meters of concrete for slabs, footings, columns, and stairs.
Gallons or litres of paint needed by room — accounts for primer coats and trim.
Tiles needed by area with waste percentage adjustment for layout pattern.
Roofing squares, shingle bundles, and underlayment by roof pitch and area.
Rolls of wallpaper needed, accounting for pattern repeat and door/window cutouts.
Sheets of drywall, screws, joint compound, and tape by wall area.
Why we are building these
Most online material estimators either oversimplify (no waste factor, no pattern allowance) or hide the working behind a signup wall. Calctube's construction tools will show the formula, the waste factor used, and the source — so quantity surveyors and DIY homeowners alike can verify the result.
Frequently asked questions
When will the construction calculators launch?
We are shipping the concrete and paint calculators first — both within the next 30 days. The full construction suite (tile, roofing, drywall, wallpaper) is on the 90-day roadmap.
Will the calculators support both imperial and metric units?
Yes. All construction calculators will toggle between US imperial (feet, square feet, cubic yards, gallons) and metric (metres, square metres, cubic metres, litres) — defaulting based on your locale.
How much waste do the calculators add?
Default waste factors: 10% for concrete, 10–15% for tile (depending on layout pattern), 5% for paint, 10% for shingles, 15% for wallpaper with pattern repeat. All values are adjustable on each calculator.
